General Mills Foodservice Celebrates Cake Artistry with Pillsbury
Professional bakers showcased their skills at this year’s annual Pillsbury Bakers' Plus Creative Cake Decorating Competition.
About the competition
The Pillsbury Bakers' Plus Creative Cake Decorating Competition is a prestigious event that showcases the incredible talent and artistry of professional cake decorators. Held at the International Baking Industry Exposition (IBIE) this year, participants were tasked with showcasing their imagination and artistry on unique cake creations across four categories: wedding cake, rolled fondant, sculpted cake and buttercream.
General Mills Foodservice provided Pillsbury Bakers’ Plus Cake Mix (more than 350 pounds!) and worked with Freed’s Bakery in Las Vegas to make nearly 200 cakes that served as the foundation for the competition. The Pillsbury Doughboy, alongside an esteemed international jury of renowned pastry experts, evaluated the competition.
